Happy March, everybody! We've made it through that arduous January/February period and emerged, blinking, into the sunlight of almost-springtime. To celebrate, here are three of my favourite songs with the word 'march' in the title:
March Into the Sea - Modest Mouse
(from We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank)
Can you believe that We Were Dead... is STILL the most recent Modest Mouse LP? Happily, though, that situation is set to change this month, with Lampshades On Fire set to finally be released - in the meantime, let's get ourselves hyped up with this stomping, foaming album opener.

March of the Pigs - Nine Inch Nails
(from The Downward Spiral)
Once you've got your head around the changeable 7/8 time signature, this song's chaotic drum line is one of the funnest things you can do with a 'kit. If you don't own a drum kit, why not slap along on your knees?

March of the Pams - Ralfe Band
(from Swords)
If you've ever seen Bunny and the Bull (probably the closest the world will ever come to a Mighty Boosh movie), you may recognise the sound of Ralfe Band - they (he?) provided the soundtrack, and this slow-building instrumental is very much in that same offbeat, world-musicky vein.
Now that I think about it, these are actually the only three 'march' songs I know. Are there any others worth listening to?
